Guest Speaker: Sarah Jenkins - Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council (MMFHC), Outreach & Education Program Administrator.
Sarah joined the MMFHC in 2022 and manages the organization’s education and outreach activities including conducting presentations, developing and distributing educational resources, and maintaining community partnerships to ensure the public is informed about fair housing rights and responsibilities.
Meeting Topic: Fair Housing: Protections, Trends, Assistance Animals, and So Much More!
Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council is a private, nonprofit civil rights agency that provides fair housing services across Wisconsin. The informational session will provide an overview of local, state, and federal protected classes, prohibited practices, and current trends, as well as MMFHC’s services. Protections for people with disabilities will also be covered, including reasonable accommodations and modifications, service animals, and emotional support animals. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of how fair housing applies to their daily practices; to help ensure they comply with the law.
